Dopo più di 6 mesi abbiamo deciso di creare una nuova iso della rolling-release Cagliari, basata su PClinuxOS e con KDE5.

Abbiamo preferito rilasciare una nuova iso che fosse quanto più aggiornata possibile, visto la mole di pacchetti di aggiornamento del sistema base, per dare ai nostri utenti la possibilità di installare un sistema operativo desktop da una iso, che fosse fresca e che non dovesse scaricare molti pacchetti ad installazione del sistema avvenuta.

Una delle piccole novità è costituita dalla versione web di ArubaSign, ma le migliorie naturalmente riguardano, come detto sopra un sistema aggiornato, comprensivo anche del kernel.

After more than 6 months we decided to create a new iso of the rolling-release Cagliari, based on PClinuxOS and with KDE5.

We preferred to release a new ISO that was as updated as possible, given the amount of update packages for the base system, to give our users the ability to install a desktop operating system from an ISO that was fresh and didn't have to download many packages after system installation.

One of the small innovations is the web version of ArubaSign, but the improvements naturally concern, as mentioned above, an updated system, also including the kernel.

La release 10 Basic, disponibile a 32/64 bit, rappresenta la soluzione migliore per i nuovi utenti che vogliono utilizzare un ambiente desktop familiare, per l'aspetto grafico in stile windows.

Proprio a chi proviene dal sistema proprietario windows è destinata questa nostra versione.

Di seguito un breve video tutorial effettuato utilizzando la versione 10 Basic a 32bit su cui è stato installato Winehq (per installare software compatibili windows a 32bit) e il noto programma di grafica Gimp.

Inoltre abbiamo utilizzato il nostro Postinstall, utile per utilizzare software proposto e manutenuto mediante i nostri repository.

The 10 Basic release, available in 32/64 bit, represents the best solution for new users who want to use a familiar desktop environment, for the windows-style graphic appearance.

This version is intended for those coming from the proprietary windows system.

Below is a short video tutorial made using the 32bit 10 Basic version on which Winehq was installed (to install 32bit windows compatible software) and the well-known graphics program Gimp.

We also used our Postinstall, useful for using software proposed and maintained through our repositories.

Abbiamo pensato di creare una versione che fosse quanto più vicina e di supporto per i nuovi utenti che provengono dalla concorrenza Microsoft.

La release 10 Basic sarà offerta in modo gratuito per pc a 32/64 bit, ha un look&feel simile a sistemi Windows ed ha molte applicazioni da installare mediante il classico Postinstall.

Stiamo inoltre lavorando alla versione 10 Professional per i soli sistemi a 64bit, che avrà altri tools ed applicazioni aggiuntive in stile Windows ed inoltre potrà godere di un'estensione di supporto.

Gli utenti che decideranno di acquistare una licenza ad un prezzo economico, potranno anche segnalare le problematiche su un portale dedicato. La singola licenza sarà abbinabile ad un solo pc.

We thought we'd create a version that was as close and supportive as possible for new users coming from the Microsoft competition.

The 10 Basic release will be offered free of charge for 32/64 bit PCs, has a look&feel similar to Windows systems and has many applications to be installed using the classic Postinstall.

We are also working on the 10 Professional version for 64-bit systems only, which will have other tools and additional Windows-style applications and will also be able to enjoy extended support.

Users who decide to purchase a license at an economic price will also be able to report problems on a dedicated portal. The single license can be combined with a single PC.
